Allan McGough

Allan McGough was born in Faulkton, South Dakota in August 1950. His early childhood was spent on small farms and towns in eastern and central South Dakota. At the age of 10, his family moved to Rapid City where he graduated from Cathedral High School in 1968.

After graduation, Allan entered college at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and later finished his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology, with an emphasis in Social Work, in 1973 from the University of South Dakota.

Allan held several positions in Human Services including a position with the South Dakota Department of Social Services from December 1973 – August 1979.  In 1979, Allan enrolled at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and was awarded a Master’s Degree in Social Work in May 1981.

After graduation from the University of Nebraska, Allan worked in the Human Service field at various agencies in  Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota until 1992.

In February 1992, Allan accepted a position at Three Rivers Mental Health and Chemical Dependency as a Mental Health therapist.  Allan has since retired and is enjoying his retirement in Rapid City.
